“There is no way anybody else has ever felt this way.”
That might be what you think as you look around at others in the group.
You imagine, “There’s no way…”
… that anyone else has these feelings…
… that anyone loses their temper more than I do…
… that anyone has memories flood through their mind and body the way mine do…
… that anyone is as overwhelmed by life as I feel…
… that anyone’s like me and has completely lost their sense of who they are.
Wouldn’t it be nice…
… to know that you’re not alone?
… to know that not just one, but many others feel the exact same way?
… to know that you’re actually normal??
You’ll learn all these things about yourself as you hear more about the experiences of others in the group.
You’ll feel supported and relieved, knowing that you’re not alone in what you’re going through.
Get ready for “aha!” and “lightbulb” moments…
They’ll happen when you hear somebody say the thing you’ve always felt but couldn’t express in words.
Or you might hear others talk about the feelings you’ve had before, and their words cause you to “connect the dots” in a different way.
It’s a time of sharing, connection, and real-time feedback – and there’s life-changing magic here that only a group can offer.
I offer the following groups…
Anger Management Group
Struggling with anger can feel like trying to hold a basketball underwater: The further down you try to push it, the harder it is and the bigger the explosion!
Wouldn’t it be a relief if the basketball of anger simply bobbed next to you in the water? Think of all the emotional energy you’d have!
Group therapy will give you the support, education, and guidance you need to understand what is driving your intense emotions. You’ll learn skills to use when the ball is threatening to blow! You’ll be able to take a step back and get meaningful feedback on how your body told you that you were angry, identify the triggering thoughts (that happen all too quickly), and learn the underlying emotions that were driving the anger.
You get all of this with the support of others going through the same thing.
Women’s Support Group (ongoing)
This group will focus on whatever issues you might like to discuss – whatever life stress or relationship friction you might want to deal with in group.
It aims to support women who want to feel heard and discover that they are far from alone. It will be a catalyst for finding strength, identifying personal goals, and feeling connected.
This group will provide you support, validate your experiences, and help you understand and manage the complicated dynamics behind all relationships: romantic, friendly, familial, or professional.
There are some things you just can’t say to other people, and that’s exactly what this group is for!
Together is better… together is change.
